Built in the 1950’s as an ice cream shop, the tradition continues still today. DJ’s Tempting Treats & BBQ in downtown Fremont offers a variety of soft serve and hand-dipped ice cream as well as sundaes, shakes, malts and root beer floats.
Their most popular flavor by far is the lemon soft serve. “It’s tasty and refreshing and in high demand,” said owner Melinda Antrup. “We have customers that purchase it by the pint.”
DJ’s sells super premium Chocolate Shoppe ice cream. Supreme sundae offerings include chocolate covered cherry, brownie cheesecake and an old-fashioned banana split. Enjoy a Tornado, which includes any flavor ice cream plus mix-ins such as Oreo, Snickers and cookie dough.
Don’t forget your four-legged friend-DJ’s serves up a doggie dish of ice cream for $1.50.
